Ultraliner Boiler Truck: Water System

Important Note: The following boiler truck configuration is used by Ultraliner's Field Service crew and is provided as an example only. Ultraliner, Inc. does not endorse the use of any particular manufacturer's equipment. Ultraliner, Inc. does not specify equipment requirements, but rather offers information regarding the general practice of Ultraliner's installers to provide guidance in a contractor's selection of equipment. The interpretation and application of the following information rests solely with the contractor. Each contractor must independently determine the cost, size, design use, and capacity of their own selection of equipment. Each contractor must independently insure the safety of their equipment and the compliance of their equipment with local and national regulations.

Water Feed Valves & Connectors:

The ability to immediately fill the boiler and the reserve tank from any of a variety of water sources (various types of fire plug connectors, garden hose, jetter, etc.) can significantly increase productivity. Additionally, water flow can be reversed to permit washing of hands or cleaning of equipment.

Water Reserve Tank:

The Ultraliner Boiler Truck has a 325 gallon water reserve tank available for refilling of the boiler, as well as for additional uses.

Water Pump:

The Ultraliner Boiler Truck has a 150 psi water pump for automatic refilling of the boiler from the water reserve tank. When selecting a water pump, it should be recognized that in order to effectively fill a fired boiler, the water pump must generate sufficient pressure to overcome the boiler pressure.

The flow from the water pump can be diverted to an external connection which allows the water pump to function as a pressure washer.

Electronic Water Level
& Pressure Controls:

Water level is critical to the safe operation of a boiler. High or low water levels can be damaging to the boiler and can be extremely dangerous despite other safety precautions. Automatic, electronic controls of boiler water levels and pressure with emergency shut-offs and alarms are required by law. The Ultraliner Boiler Truck has redundant safety controls.

Water Level Site Glass
& Manual Controls:

The water level site glass provides a visual confirmation of the boiler water levels. Manual controls are available should the electronic controls ever fail to operate properly.

Boiler Flush Valve:

The boiler flush valve is located so as to drain the boiler from the bottom during periods of inactivity. Routinely flushing the boiler removes sediment and is critical to proper maintenance and performance of the boiler.
