The Whiteside-Whittle House was built circa 1854 as the residence of the Castleberry family. In 1914, the Whiteside family purchased the home; the home remained the Whiteside family residence for over 80 years. Among the Whiteside family members who resided here, was Hemphill Whiteside who served as mayor of Oxford, Alabama for 4 terms. The historic residence is located in the heart of the old Oxford Business District.
In 1994, Luke Whittle purchased the home and undertook its preservation and renovation. Although the home now serves as the corporate headquarters of Ultraliner, it has been painstakingly decorated and furnished to maintain the appeal of its ante-bellum heritage. The Whiteside-Whittle house is uniquely matched to the corporate focus of renewing the world's existing infrastructure. |
